I have 2 issues.

1- I receive this error every time I open the web site.

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
The site 'http://localhost/Portal' is currently configured for use with ASP.NET 1.1.4322.573. Microsoft Visual Studio has been designed for use with ASP.NET 2.0; if not configured some features may make incorrect assumptions, and pages designed with the tool may not render correctly.

Would you like the site to be configured for use with ASP.NET 2.0?
---------------------------
Yes   No   Cancel   Help
---------------------------

I select yes or no and this message will show up every time I open the sln.

2 - When I run the web site I receive the following.

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error

Description: The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Error Code: 0x80070005

Notification: BeginRequest

Module: IIS Web Core

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/Portal/

Logon User: Not yet determined

Logon Method: Not yet determined

Handler: Not yet determined

Config Error: Cannot read configuration file

Any ideas?

What version of DNN? And if it's DNN 4 have you set it to user ASPNET 2.0 in IIS?

DNN 4. I set the application in IIS to run under the application pool for ASP.NET 2.0.

It sounds like you do not have IIS configured for .NET 2.0  You will want to change that in IIS.  Also, you will want to make sure that the application is running under the "Classic" application pool!
