I've been trying this on 4.0.1 but I still get the error. So I tried a fresh page, but the error still comes up soon as the module is inserted.

I've definitely got the code in the right place and fully correct as it is here in the thread.... even to the point of using a text file comparison tool to check.

Here's my log with my username and site changed:

same - i have 4.0.1 - same error - you'd think with all the brain power here there'd be a solution? does anyone know if this works with DNN v3 on the 1.1 framework? should I just downgrade?

Thanks of your help. Now it works. HTML killed my previous mods. I'll keep in mind for the future the copy on the notepad.

I've appreciated your suggestion and solution

I know it works with 3.2.1 using the edits from DJ Doug.  I've got it up and running on my Dev site.  If you look at my live page it's now broken but that is using the old code that someone was nice enough to mess with last night.

Since it's not using the database to keep metadata on the folders you should be able to just copy off the gallery folder in your portal/0 directory install the new module then copy back the gallery folder.  I've not tried this yet though so it might be a little more involved.  :)

No need to copy the Gallery directory. But if you place the module on a page, it will create a new directory with a number under the gallery directory (e.g. portals/0/gallery/696). Just move your existing gallery files there rather than modifying the configuration to point to /gallery. That way if you decide to have another gallery, it dreate a new directory under /gallery and it will be invisible to your inital one.

Cheers
Roger
