I needed to make a change to the SignIn module which is part of the DNN core. How do I move this change up from a source development version to a compiled install version in production? Can I just move the DotNetNuke.dll to production. Are there any special steps?

Thanks for any help you can give!

The answer to this was...Yes. Compile thechanges and move the DotNetNuke.dll into the bin directory in production.

It depends on what it is you've changed. If you changed some files under DotNeNuke.Library project and recompiled it, then you would need to copy DotNetNuke.dll over to your running Bin folder.

However, if you changed a SignIn.ascx in admin/security folder, you just need to copy that SignIn file - it'll get compiled at the run time in production.

Thanks. I am just changing the signin portion. That saves me a step. Thanks!
