There must be a way to do this. I want to use the module to distribute files, documents mostly, of different types, xls, pdf, doc.... I wish to specify an icon for eachfile type as the image and have the icon also be a link to download but it just will not work.

In the template I would assume I can replace the [IMAGE] tag with [DOWNLOAD].

Any help would be appreciated.

Give me some time to do some testing and I'll see if I can figure out a way to do it.

Mike, to go along with this would be catgegory Icons. Being able to assign a category an icon and then neing able to use an [ICON] tag in the templates would be very powerful. Then being able to "link" to that tag as well.

Mike, any ideas on this?

The latest release is great, it would just be nice to make a link for download from any other tag like image, file etc so you did not need to rely on an actual "Download" link.

I did do some checking on this but can't remember if I got it to work (got caught up in other bug testings plus my own code that needed to be done). Unfortunately I can't go back to see what I'd figured out as my development machine (a laptop) decided on Saturday night to just lock up on occasion and then tonight it finally decided to pack it in. I'm guessing it's a controller on the motherboard based on the errors it does show me and I don't know how long it'll be before I get a replacement under warranty.

However, Steve did help someone in another post who was using either the directory or link template in changing the "Visit" image to show download. Perhaps the reverse might work in your case.
