A low date would be a value that you are sure covers the time you had the forum installed.  This is based on when the post was posted.  Since the module wasn't released until March or something, I would say 3/1/2005 is low enough.

Have a look at the other thread. You might just have a problem with LastIndexDate as well, thats one of the "under the hood" module settings, which you can change only directly in the db

hmm... I've had a read through it and I understand that I wasnt gettting any posts because it is probably only giving me posts from the day... where all my posts are still test posts I inserted some time ago.

What I havent understood is how to fix that... is there a particular value I need to set for LastIndexDate? Your post says you set it to a low date.. what's a low date?

Thanks for any further advice :)

well... lower than the date of your first post should index everything. What i if you have a lot of posts, reindexing takes a lot of time, and i found it's best letting the scheduler handle it instead of manual reindex. So what i did was stop the scheduled reindexing, remove all content from the searchItem table, set LastIndexDate to before the date of the first post, and turn scheduled reindexing back on. On my live site reindexing took about 30 seconds i guess.

HTH

cheers,

erik
