I would like to add an external file locatoin to the File Manager.  It won't let me use a UNC, and it appears to that all folders must be located under the Portals\0 folder.  The only reason I need to do this is because the WYSIWYG editor can not find the location of my files when I want to add a link to either an image or just a document.  Is there any way to configure both to allow for the external file location.

Thanks

I guess I might not be understanding correctly.  Are you looking to upload a file from a UNC location on your local network to your DNN site?  if that is the case I do not believe that it is possible unless the drive is mapped.  That is more of a limitation of your internet browser than DNN from what I understand.

If you are looking to upload files to locations other than the portal root or below you will need to login with host access.

Well, Im not trying to upload a file from a UNC location, I am trying to add a UNC location to the FileManger.  My original goal with this was to allow the WYSIWYG to talk with a shared server so that the files and such that are located on the share can be used inside the WYSIWYG, i.e I want to be able to link to files that are on the share, and also insert images that are on the share.  Currently the WYSIWYG editor only maps to files under the portal root.  I wrote some code to make it map the path to my shared server, but it bombs out when it trys to get get the folders, because the folders and permissions and such are not in the DB.  To add them to the DB, I need the file manager to add a folder that is on the shared server, which then in turn would let the WYSIWYG look at the files that are on the share.
