I would think this is at the heart of many DNN users out there.  But thanks to Shawn for helping me come up with not only a "Gripe" but a possible solution too!

As with in this post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/108157/scope/posts/Default.aspx

A big problem is the Registration - especially for "Paid" Subscriptions - unless you're well versed in DNN, the registration and subscription process is a nightmare - especially for not-too-web-savy-users.  There are modules that can help alleviate the problem, but also don't include help with Payment Processing - and still fall short in many other areas. (Core functionality is there)

Dnn already has a "Redirect after Registration" selection to choose a page to redirect the users to.  It would be great if we could select the "Manage Services" tab of the "Manage Profile" for the user - so after initial Registration (And verification if so chosen) - The user is placed right in front of where they need to be to select a subscription.  This would also remove the "road map" of how what to do AFTER registration to purchase a subscription.

With the awesome upgrade in Profile functionality (add/remove any items needed based on portal) and requiring an Up-to-date profile, this wouldn't seem to be a far stretch.  I unfortunately don't know where to start to modify this.

Any comments?  Please add them!!!  This will be like our "Petition" so to say

My intention was to maybe get this integrated into the core.... not to find another link to a 3rd party module.  Plus, is that even working now?  I had a subscription over a year ago and it was listed as "coming soon" for a long time - (only had the "subscription status" - to display text to various user groups).  (** I'm not bagging on Scott, I've learned a LOT from him)

As far as "Other Solutions" go, I notice with 4.4.1, you can now place another module on the same page as a "User Account" module... that being said, after registration you redirect to a page with your text/html with the "Driections of how to subscribe" and the user account below it.

But that still requires the user to click "Manage Services" and such...  What I described above wouldn't seem like a hard integration into the core... and it removes one more user click.   A  long/confusing registration will keep MANY users away (that aren't geniuses with DNN experience )

please have a look at the project page, there it is listed, how you can submit your own core code improvements, so it can be reviewed and integrated by the core team.

Yes, so please  anyone else reading this thread, please offer up some advice!!  I'm not sure how to do this, I'm not overly familiar with all of DNN... but have developed a few modules for clients.

If someone can help to point us in the right direction of where to start, I'd be willing to give it a go in some of my free time!  Unfortunately there's not a lot with work, free website improvement favors, trying to get in some last ice fishing before the ice goes, and UW Badgers atheletics (BB #1 AP first time ever!)

But never the less, I'd like to help contribute.... it all starts with an idea!
