Hi Mitchel,

I must be doing something wrong.

I didn't have a section in my web.config for HostHeader, so I added one.

I saw in some other forums this discussed... However I must be doing something wrong b/c I don't think it's doing anything.

Here's what I put in my web.config within the <appSettings>

<add key="HostHeader" value="/dotnetnuke4" />

<!-- Host Header to remove from URL so "www.mytestdnn.com/DotNetNuke4" is treated
as www.mytestdnn.com -->

I also tried /DotNetNuke 4 in case it was case sensitive. I also tried leaving out the "/" .

If I am accessing this server remotely...I want to type in my url www.mytestdnn.com.  In my host file, I have a dns entry for the ip to resolve to www.mytestdnn.com.  In DNN I have  a portal alias set to www.mytestdnn.com and www.mytestdnn.com/dotnetnuke4.

Do you see what I'm missing here?

I appologize for my lack of DNN understanding.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Jen

Jen,

It seems that you have everything setup correctly.  You should be able to just put the folder name in there, therefore if your site is being accessed via

http://www.mytestdnn.com/dotnetnuke4

You would put dotnetnuke4 in for the host header value.

I have not personally used this so I am not aware of any other "quirks" that might exist.  Hopefully someone else here can shed some light on the situation for you.
