I had a chance to look into this a while ago and it appears to be a problem in the forum module.  You might want to post a question to them asking about it.  Also the forum module has hardcoded the unoffical beta version of the gallery into its code.  So you will need to install the gallery so that can find the files.  Note: If you install my "patched" version of the gallery, the gallery.dll file doesn't exist anymore and then the forum module is also unhappy.  Hopefully they will fix the forum module.
