These classes are leftovers from the DNN v2 era and are not used by any of the skins that come preinstalled with version 3 and 4.

In the red "DNN" skin that came with DNN version 2 (and is still mentioned in the skinning document), the "SelectedTab" class was used for skin links like Login, Privacy, Copyright and the BreadCrumb items, among others.  The "OtherTabs" class was used for the vertical bar separator | interspaced between those links.  The "skinObject" class has replaced the "SelectedTab" class in later versions (3 and 4) of DNN.
