This should be simple right?

Old server running Windows 2003 Standard w/ DNN 4 pm MSSQL 2000.

New server running Windows 2003 Standard w/ MSSQL 2000.

I copied the web directory from old to new and placed in exactly the same directory tree structure with all the same permissions. I backed up the SQL database and restored on the new server with the same name. Took old server offline and brought new server back online with exactly same IP information.  IIS is set up exactly the same.

But the moved DNN install will not come up.

IIS is running fine, since I can hit this web page - http://216.161.207.45/test/default.htm

SQL2000 is running fine since I can view the tables and such through the Enterprise Manager and when I link it up using MS Access.

.NET Framework 2.0 is also installed.

So, what else am I missing?

Any pointer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

make sure, that ASP.Net 2.0 is configured correctly and the default document is set to default.aspx in IIS web site configuration.

I compared the old server's .NET2 configuration with the new server's and they all look the same.  And the IIS has default.aspx as its first choice as default document.

What else do I need to check?

Thanks in advance for any help.

if it is not a permissions issue, you might need to reinstall .Net framework 2.0

Did you set the sql connection string in the web.config to the new server settings?

So far I've never had any trouble with changing servers (just with an ongoing error that I can't get rid of).
