Hi,

If you look at the dependencies on DotNetNuke.Provider.Membership.SqlDataProvider.dll, it's manifest declares a dependency on System.Data from .net 1.1.

.assembly extern System.Data as System.Data_7
{
.publickeytoken = (B7 7A 5C 56 19 34 E0 89 ) // .z\V.4..
.ver 1:0:5000:0
}

I think it comes from the use of Microsoft.Application.Data.dll which has references to the v1.1 version.

I have problem installing DNN 4.4.1 at my hosting provider, and I wonder if a potential problem could be that they have only .NET V2 installed on the server. Or is this known to work anyway? It would be nice to know that the installation worked on a pure .NET v2 machine.

Here's the error from the EventLog table:

Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.Provider.Membership.SqlDataProvider' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.

as long as most of the core modules are still DNN3/ASP.Net 1.1 modules, I don't think you can omit .Net framework 1.1
