Hey all,

I'm currently working on a site running off DNN, have done some custom modules for it, etc, and it's all looking really good. However, I've come to setting up User registration and login, and have run into some difficulties.

Basically, I'm wanting to have quite customised screens, in terms of layout, design, etc. Ideally, I want a split a screen with login on one side, and registration on the other, both visible at the same time, etc. Just some fairly significant layout customisation, etc.

I've had a good look around online, and have only managed to find little tidbits of info on changing small bits about these screens, and my efforts haven't results in much success this end either. Does anyone have some good info on the best way to go about this, whether it's worth me writing some custom module instead of messing around with DNN, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have really been struggling with it so far!

Thanks,

Paul

It is my understanding that although you can put login in a standard page. But register page is only available in the admin skin which will only inject the register elements.

You may be able to buy a third party module that can do the register functionalities and add it in a page together with login module.

Ah. That's a problem :-(

Do you think it's possible to write my own module, and tie it into the DNN registration/user system? No idea how complicated that would be. My modules are all C# as well, so I can't just nick the DNN source to see what they've done!

You can certainly do your module - but this is not easy. I think if you can find a module with source that does custom registration - you are better off.

I have not looked for a while but a year ago there were two third party modules that almost did this. One was called something like UCanUse and one other that I cannot remember now. But we had a client with simmilar requirment and we did deliver the DNN3.x solution like that. Things may have changed for 4.x but please check.
