Hi,
we try to install the source package on a new machine and get the 'DotNetNuke Upgrade Error, the Assembly Version does not match the database version' as we try to start the installation process. Which upgrade? Its a brand new installation.
The database connectivity is ok, because on table is created, 'medi-Version' without any row.

Is there a fool proof installation procedure out anywhere, we use the book 'Professional dotnetnuke 4'.

Thanks for helping

Gerhard

this truly look like a connection issue, I have never seen a "medi-Version" table in my database.

Hi,
1.) Found this table
2.) Delete this table, the database contains only system tables
3.) Start the install module
4.) Crash, as usual
5.) Detect the able in the database

==> The connection works fine, because we get no error message 'connection string ...' from nuke, and the system could generate this table.

We try to install and work with nuke for a lot of time, but the system seems very hard to handle and unstable.
So we wait for the new version and try to install the system on a virtual PC.

We had a running version, but after installing som module, the system crashes and we arnt able to fix the problem. So we use a virtual PC and take copies after each successful step, but we cant do not one of this steps !!!!

Is there any fool proof installation procedure out there, working with almost all scenarios?

Thanks

gerhard

Near to give up with nuke.

I'm having the same problem, using DNN 4.4.1 install package. The "medi-" is the objectqualifier for SQL objects.  That table is created, as well as 3 stored procedures.  Also the message "ERROR: Could not connect to database." is displayed, but my connection string is okay.

  • you should not have a dash in your objectQualifer, a "_" is added automatically
  • make sure, that both connection strings in your web.config are identical
  • if the issue persist, post the complete message.
