All of our internal documents in ver 03.01.06 download as forced downloads rather than being displayed inline. This is true of both the download link and the link title.

I've pulled up the source and see the following lines in document.ascx.vb on lines 206 &  226 one for the title and one for the dl, :
---------------
' Note: The title link should display inline if possible, so set
                  ' ForceDownload=False
                                    .NavigateUrl = DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.LinkClick(objDocument.Url, TabId, ModuleId, objDocument.TrackClicks, False)

....
....

 ' Note: The title link should display open/save dialog if possible,
                ' so set ForceDownload=True
                .NavigateUrl = DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.LinkClick(objDocument.Url, TabId, ModuleId, objDocument.TrackClicks, True)
--------------

Now I'm assuming that the last Boolean parameter is referring to ForceDownload but I cant find the reference anywhere and changing it doesn't seem to have an effect. Further the DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.LinkClick method only appears to support 3 parameter (Link, TabID, and Module ID).

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, any light anyone could shed would be helpful.

Thanks

Michael

Like the code comments say, the title link sends headers to indicate to the browser that it should display inline.  However, some document types/viewers/browser settings can ignore these, and launch an external window.
