It's currently 10:32pm PST and I just resolved the reason for 3 outages in the last hour or so.  We experienced some additional reported outages earlier in the day that I was not around to observe.  I believe they are likely related.

We are having some additional hardware provisioned as part of some infrastructure expansion to better serve our community.  Today, a new server was partially provisioned that will provide warm database fail-over for us (a wonderful thing).  Which means that this server is aware of the IP's our current database server uses.  However, the server was plugged in and should not have been... yet.  So an IP collision was occurring periodically as the new server attempted to declare itself... the result of that IP collision was that none of our applications could locate SQL Server on the machine reached.  Not so good.

That problem has been rectified and service fully restored.  We'll be sorting out the rest of the provisioning tomorrow.  We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
