Have you noticed any general performance increase/decrease?
I've been thinking about adding this to my site but alittle worried about the performance impact.

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

There is no noticable performance impact. As a matter of a fact, since I am doing away with in-band postback's on my search, the module has technically increased in performance many times over. For those of you who haven't gone through the Microsoft Web Tutorial regarding AJAX, I suggest you check it out. It will put many of your reservations to rest.

I know that many of you have reservations about my decision to use the scriptservice, but please remember that I am on a local intranet; no one from the outside my domain can gain access to my web server, application server, or database server. Even if they do have access, the web service authenticates the requsting user against the Active Directory before returning any results.

Cheers!

I did alittle research using one of my sites.  I found that the AJAX installation actually made my site faster.  Which was great, but if you use XMod it creates issues with your templates so I would recommend testing in a development environment before putting into production.

Vladan Strigo great tutorial, installed without any issues!!!!

Great!

Thanks to both of you for comments, I am sure they are VERY valuable to other users which are thinking of using the same method.

Thanks,
