I have searched for answers for several questions but get no results from the forum search tool.

1. Can I set up DNN so there can only be one user per email address? To me this would seem to be the default but it's not.

2. Can I trigger a role add to a user based on email address or some other field? This would ideally be automatic, on authorization of a user, based on the user's email, they would get a role assignment. Specifically the email domain will trigger assignment. If anyone can offer advice about how to program this to happen, I'd really appreciate it.

thanks!

  1. Yes.  Search for "requiresUniqueEmail" in your web.config and you'll see where to make the change.
  2. Not exactly.  You can however use RSVP codes....after registering, the user goes into Manage Services, enters the code, and then they are placed in whatever roles you set the code up with.  There are 3rd party modules that allow this to happen during registration which is a bit nicer, but I can't remember their names.  UCanUse User Attributes is one I think.
