Hello, I carefully read my instructions. But, I must be missing a step.Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

Here are the errors.

  Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

make sure, you create a web site or virtual directory in IIS, pointing the root folder of your DotNetNuke installatin, where the web.config resides. make sure, there is no other file named web.config in any sub folder.

I tried converting dnn folder in an application in IIS, but afterward I keep getting an unhandled exception error.

It looks like you have a capitalization error in the machineKey section.  Make sure that the K is a capital as the web.config is case sensitive.
