I currently have a DNN3 site. I want to convert this to a DNN4 site but don't want to go through the upgrade processes. I want to create a fresh DNN4 install but then transfer user accounts to it. How can this be done correctly? Please help...

Do you have full access to databases. You can use Database Replication (which i couldnt do succesfully for some reasons). Or another option there are some third party modules at Snowcovered that can handle this task. Search User Export/Import modules.

Personally recommend Hostgator for hosting single or multiple DotNetNuke Websites.

I am not 100% sure on this, but the following might work if you are looking at only user accounts.

Setup your new version of DNN, be sure to specify your current validation and decryption keys as you will need that set the same for decrypting old information.

Once you have it setup, you can manually write scripts to merge records from your old tables...the following tables are the ones that I think you would be concerned wtih.

aspnet_users
aspnet_usersinroles
aspnet_profile
aspnet_membership
users
userprofile
userroles

It will be a fairly manual process but it should be something you can accomplish.

The easiest and safest method to accomplish this would be to follow the upgrade procedure.....
