Hi there,

Ihave registered my website domain with a domain registrar and I am hosting my website from home(Windows 2003 server, IIS 6.0). I am using port 81 for the website and I have told my domain registrar to point any access to my website to the ip address and port 81.

The problem I am having now is that when I enter www.mywebsite.com into the browser, the website address changes to the ip address and the port number. I have also setup the host header name against the website in my IIS but the website address still changes to the IP address.

I want to display the website address as www.mywebsite.com in the browser instead of the IP address and the port number. Please let me know what I am doing wrong and how I can fulfil the above.

Thanks a lot.

Karan

Is www.mywebsite.com added as  an alias for the portal in DNN (host > portals)?

Yes, I have added an alias for the portal as well. I am guessing that multiple portal using the same IP address on the IIS can be configured only on port 80 to display host names for website addresses instead of the IP addresses. I am trying to do this on port 81 so the host header name doesnt appear as the website address.

Please correct me if I am thinking wrong. Or there might be another way I am not aware of to perform this function.

Thanks.
