Hi every one.

I am experiencing som strange behavior when working with my own skins. I have created a simple skin (based on tutorial from DNNCreative) including adding the dynamic doctype xml.

Everything is ok when I upload my custom skin, and apply that skin (some css problems in FireFox but anyway) to my site. Whan I want to change back to i.e to the DNN-Blue or DNN-Gray skin again, I get some error after applying it, and My site is totally screwed. I created a new test site, the same drill with my skin and then changing back again, but now I chose Preview. Then I get this error message:

A critical error has occurred. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type

Basically this seems to be a "summary" of the first error that had muck more text.

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? I am usin DNN 4.4.1, I created the site with the Starter Kit in VS 2005 SP1.

Hello Salar.

I just figured out what could have been the problem. The problem happens only when I try to apply a skin with the Vertical menu skin. My skin has a fixed horizontal menu, so for some reason I get this error message only if I try to apply DNN-Blue with vertical menu. I solved the problem by applying a horizontal meny skin.

Check and ensure all the DLLs associated with TreeMenu etc are present in your portal. Some were missing in a recent 4.x version. There has been number of posts in the recent past about this, a search may bring it up.
