I've done a couple of "on the fly" modules using the starter kit but would like to start using WAP as I like having the .dll already in the bin directory. I've found that I need to have my project setup with the default DotNetNuke_2 as I found that I couldn't add any controls in the toolbox otherwise (I can't remember the error that was thrown but it wouldn't add the control) but I'm finding when I add a Compiled Module project and look at the .ascx source that any of the "~/Controls/Whatever" in the Register sections (ie: Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="Label" Src="~/controls/LabelControl.ascx" shows an error that the file was not found. What do I need to do to get those errors out of there?

2 things:

1) I am glad you are switching to a better development approach. You can take a look at mine approach for an *original* WAP approach, which is in my opinion even more productive then the core one.

2) On my site, along with my development approach tutorials (in the Projects > BlankModule section) you will also find a tutorial on how to use DNN controls in your modules.

Thanks Vladan. I have considered your solution but was hoping to use a built in DNN one. I will however take another look at your solution as it does appear similiar to the approach I used with DNN3.

I won't say anything... you will see the difference when you start developing :)

Vladan, I used your tutorial as a template and setup my own solution called ViewFiles. Everything looks the exact same as you've got it and I have no errors but when I go to view the page I get an error saying that it could not load type "ViewFiles.ViewFiles" Your BlankModule solution works fine and I can't find a difference between the two projects.
