Hi there,

Can someone guide me to where I can find out how to change the appearance of the Events module.  The  default module comes in a blue color.  Need to now if its possible to modify the colour and fonts...

Cheers,

Mitch (Novice)

You can change the styling by means of the css classes in the module.

Hi Again,

Ok, I guessed as much.  I should have been more specific with my question.

Once you have loaded and installed the Events module or any other module for that matter), what is the process involved in modifying the style sheets? (.css).  From the help screen:

Copy the module.css from the DesktopModules\Event directory to the Site Style sheet and use a CSS editor to customize the module look.
Questions:
a) Where is the DesktopModules\Event directory?  Is this on the DotNetNuke site or part of my own hosted DNN set-up?  (Tried finding the .css files via the DNN control panel without success).
b) Once I have customized the module look and feel do I need to reload the entire module to my DNN site?
c) What is the recommended CSS editor?
d) Big picture question about the process involved i then .css modifications.  Can this be done on files and modules already uploaded into the site or does this have to be done as a separate step on my local machine and only uploaded when complete as a completely new module?
e) Can you upload a .css file for a specific module on its own or does one have to upload the entire module .zip?

in the dnn installation, you can't acces it through the filemanagers.

You don't need to copy only override the styles the module uses. You can place these classes in you skin .css file so just upload the adapted skinfile

Anyone will do, I use VS2005

Each module should have a module.css in which module-specific styling is placed. These styles can be changed in this file, but you could also change them in the .css file that is part of your skin. You cannot upload the module.css by means of the host/admin filemanager, you need to use the module installer or any other means to access your file system on your webserver. Usually, when you develop a module, you will at some point take care of the styling.

See above.
