Can we PLEASE get an update to the status of the development of this module.  I know that the leads have had some personal issues, but it seems like it's been more than a year since anything was done with this essential module.  Am I right or just crazy??

HPS's last blog entry was from Feb 2006.

CC's last blog entry regarding the module was from August 2006.

When you look at how clean and simple the php blogs like wordpress work and are frequently updated, having the module on the shelf, in my opinion, seriously hurts the prospects for the future of DNN.

Just my opinion.  Yours may differ.

Thanks!

due to severe desease of the team lead, there has been no progress during the past months. The core team is currently working to set up a new project team.

FYI: the new project team should be formed shortly, and will be blogging about their plans.

This is very, very welcome news. I'll tell you, if I could code I would have volunteered to this module! Great that a team is falling into place.

While I'm at it, I completely share the view above of 1st5ive.com above that a lack of progress with this module would seriously hurt the prospects for the future of DNN. Blogs are an utterly essential part of a website in 2007, and any CMS looking to gain a foothold will, at their peril, take their eye off the 'blog ball'. This should (maybe it now is?) be a frontline priority for the whole DNN project. Yes it's nice to have updates of FAQ, Links and Feedback modules for DNN (as there have been in the last 2 weeks) but - without offending the excellent efforts of the contributors to these modules - such modules are of fringe importance for any website that is serious about addressing the needs of its users in 2007 and beyond.

My 2 euros cents.

cathal,

is there a process if someone would like to work on the project team to throw their name in to the ring for consideration??
