Hello.  I am trying to install DNN on my local machine.  I am running xp sp2.  IIS is installed and localhost is pinging back.  I am using visual web developer express.  I tried installing using the file DotNetNuke_4.4.1_StarterKit.vsi when I click on it it loads in VWD but when it is trying to install it gives me an error.  The compiled modules could not be installed.  after I click for more information it says:

Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio.
I can ignore it and keep going but when I create the web site I can't get into it.
example when I go to http://localhost:4752/DNN/Default.aspx
it says this:
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:4752.
    *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
          moments.

    *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
          connection.

    *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I have uninstalled ISS and VWD rebooted and reinstalled...Did not help. I did a repair on Asp.net 2 framework.  still no help.
I am a Noob at DNN please help.

Thank you very much in advance,
Jeremy Palmer

I am still very stuck at this problem.  Is there anyone who knows of a solution.  I really appreciate it.
I belive the problem is that the directory that it copies a specific zip file into does not exist. If I knew what folder it is trying to copy to I could manualy create it.

Thanks
Jeremy Palmer

Nope...I am still stuck.
I found others talking about something similar about Visual Studio their work around involved manually creating the folder and coping a zip file into it.  Someone who knows about the structure of DNN should be able to tell us what folder and zip.  Hopefully someone will see this post who can help us.  I am at an impass with this problem.  If you find a solution please post it here.
