Hi there.

I am trying to upgrade our corporate Intranet from 3.2.0 to 4.5.0RC1. Everything works fine, except for the documents module. I exported the Portal Template from 3.2.0, then I added a "Profiles" sections to the template file - this was necessary to get DNN4.5.0 to create my new portal.

Pages were created, skin was applied, files were copied into folders and moduldes were installed on pages. Everything looked fine. However:

When I press the link for a document - I get this error: "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File". I am logged in as superuser - so that should not be an issue. When I go to filemanager, I can open the file, so my asp account has read access to the folder.

I tried to upload a new file - this worked fine - but when I try to download, I get the samme error.

Any ideas what this could be?

Try going into the file manager (in DNN) and click "synchronize" (with the "recursive" checkbox checked), and see if that helps.

Hello.  I am also getting this error.  The only thing that seems to fix the error is to allow "All Users" read access to the folder through the DNN FileManager.  This does not seem to be how the system was designed because in the file manager, it leads you to believe you can be selective as to which groups can view a folder by the series of checboxes that are visible.  The documents module doesn't seem to care about that, it seems to want "All Users" or else we get this error.

(I did try the synchronize/recursive suggestion above, but only "All Users" allows a file to be accessed from the Documents module).

This is with 4.4.0 and 3.01.06 of the documents module.

Thank you in advance for your help!

espenalb:  There is a known bug when using export/import on the documents module.

Thank you for your response.  I think there might be another condition when this bug appears because there was not any import/export done on this documents module.  Just creating the folder through file manager and then uploading to that location...
