Create and maintain single and multiple image galleries, including fast and easy upload via Windows-based utility

Polle PiGa is "yet another image gallery" for DotNetNuke, but focused on ease of use and productivity for the content provider, by leveraging a speedy Windows-based Image Upload utility, which takes away the boring and time-consuming web-based upload of images!

Features include:

  • Create and maintain single and multiple galleries
  • Specific permissions for contribution and approval, so upload-permissions can be granted to all photographers, and approve-permissions can be granted to editors. An e-mail can even be sent to approvers when new content is added, which needs approval...
  • 4 different sizes and compressions for images, Mini Thumbnail, Thumbnail, Preview and Full, which all can be adjusted to fit precise needs. Uploaded content is automatically resized to appropiate sizes.
  • Fully customizable listing of galleries and content with XSL-based transformations
  • RSS feeds including "Latest galleries"-feed, which can be used to display the top X newest galleries on front page, including preview of first Y images, and "Random image"-feed, which, surprise, shows a random image.
  • Web-based approval, creation and deletion of galleries and images
  • Full Import/Export of module, including galleries, images and settings
  • Searchable via the standard DotNetNuke search interface
  • And of course, the most significant feature, the Polle PiGa Image Upload Windows Utility, which provides contributors with an easy-to-use Windows program, from which multiple images can be added, sorted, rotated, titled/described, and uploaded to the DotNetNuke site. Automatic extract of title, description and date from EXIF-properties, drag'n drop and a lot of keyboard shortcuts speeds up the process! On upload to DotNetNuke site, user will log in and retrieve list of modules, for which the user has contribute permissions, and after selecting or adding a gallery, images will be resized on the client side and uploaded to the DotNetNuke site - again saving time and bandwidth!

Polle PiGa is developed using Visual Studio .NET 2003 and is tested on DotNetNuke versions 3.1, 3.2 and 3.2.2 installations.
