Hello, I am having a couple of problems with my dnn site. It is being used as a help desk site and I need to have it to send an email to a person when they submit a support request as well as one to the support team. I am not sure how to set that up.

Another problem is not being able to edit the fields contained within the drop down boxes. When I log in as dnn admin I can change the fields but it does not seem to show up on any other login. Any thought??? Thanks in advance!!!

I am not sure how you are doing this, I assume you have a custom module, in which case your module should handle this. You need to have SMTP configured properly from Host -> Host Settings area as well.

I am not sure what fields and what drop down lists you are talking about here. (The admin being able to do this is becuase they are admin, most users don't have the permissions to change something like this in most modules)

I already tested the smtp settings and they work. When someone is added to a role they get an email stating that, so I know that the smtp is configured correctly. I just need to know how you get it to send emails to the person requesting support about their ticket and the support staff recieves an email that there is a new ticket.

I think I have found where to configure the dropdowns finally, however if you have any suggestions on the emailing that would be great! Thanks for the response.

I cannot answer your question because I don't know what you are using to submit support tickets. I still have no idea what dropdown you are talking about either, but at least that is solved. I will try my best to answer, if I understand more what you are using to do this. (How is a support ticket sent?)

The dnn site allows users to login using their AD login. Once they are in they can click on create a new ticket. From there they fill out the information and submit it. I am not exactly sure how to explain this any further. Then the support team can log in and view the tickets.
