Hello

When I first set up my site I used the registered domain name but omitted the www. so it looked like this  http://mydnnsite.com

However, upon installing a Google site map I found that the map required the full url including the www.

I added another aliase to my site and included the www. to my domain name, http://www.mydnnsite.com. Which seems to work fine, so far. I now have 2 aliases using the same domain name, for my site settings, which I suspect might cause site problems and confusion for search engines etc.

Is it straightforward for me to just delete the old domain name without causing problems? Or do I need to follow certain steps to ensure future problems do not occure?

Thanks

Lynn

you can delete the portal alias without server name ("www") if you are logged in using www alias. you can keep the host header in IIS web site configuration pointing to your dnn directory, it will result in calling the default portal of the installation
