An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

Here is the url that is displayed:

http://pacificsouthern.partechnologies.net/Default.aspx?tabid=74&error=Value+cannot+be+null.%0d%0aParameter+name%3a+type&content=0

That is all I get. So, I went into the web.config file and uncommented <customErrors mode="Off"/> and i was expecting to get an error messsage. Now I get... the same. It appears as if it is being overridden somewhere. I even stopped an restarted the website and checked the web.config.

This is for a parent portal which is portal 2 in my portal folder.

Here is the web.config. without the  <dotnetnuke> section.

There are a number of dll files missing in DNN 4.4.0/4.4.1, including  the one for the treemenu. copy it from the download of a DNN 4.3.7 package.

Cheers from Germany,

I have the same problem, and I was going to copy treeviewmenu.ascx and treeviewmenu.ascx.vb from 4.3.7 to the admin/Skins directory, but it was already there.  I didn't see any DLLs in the bin directory which match treeviewmenu.

I just installed 4.4.1 by the way.

So, what's the real fix?  Anyone?

Thanks,

Jason

This is a frustrating one that keeps popping up. I have a blog entry about the issue here - there's a list of the missing dll's there.

I had the same problem, after changing the skins in my default portalID  0 (DotNetNuke Version 4.4.1)

I found the solution: Open your portal with Visual Web Developer go to Database Explorer to be able to open the Database.mdf, go to the table "skins" and display the records, You have to delete the created records to go back to the original state like this:

SkinID   PortalID   SkinRoot   SkinSrc   SkinType

NULL   NULL      NULL       NULL      NULL

What I want to explain is that the SKINS table in the database don't need any records for the portalID 0in my case I got the error in that portalID 0, so if you have more portals like portalID 1 or more be careful not to delete those, but the worst scenario is that your other portals will go back to the original skin in case you deleted all records of all the PortalID's

Save your project and debug it again and you will not have any errors.

www.webxcreen.net is the website that I have testing and is running again.
