Hi all.

I want to Upgrade my DNN installation of 4.3.5 to 4.4.1. I downloaded the Ugrade from the DNN site [Downloads Section]. As instructed, I unzipped the contents of the upgrade into the directory where i had my DNN 4.3.5 installed. I get the following error, no matter how many times I try. What's wrong...

Ok, when I try to upgrade the clean install of DNN 4.3.5 then I face no problems. I think, this must be because of the coustom modules that I have either created or installed. If it is so, can you ppl please suggest me something...

Thanks,

Sasmit.

Ok. This has some thing to do with ...

<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication" />

in the web.config. I needed to comment this line in the web.config. I had uncommented it 'cos I was using mixed mode authentication. As soon as I commented it out again and set the dnn to use the Forms authentication the thing got upgraded.

Hope this helps...

Sitll I need explanations.

Cheers!

Sasmit.

please make sure, always to use the release.config as master for the new web.config, keeping your previous two connection strings, both encryption keys, code Directories, objectQualifier and databaseOwner.
