I've only searched for ~15 minutes but haven't found a place in the web site, sourceforge site, roadmap page or the forums with a version history of DNN and especially what is 'new' in each version. For instance I want to see if I should bother upgrading from 4.01 to 4.02? Or should I stay with 3.x (since I just noticed that this web site is still on that version)?!

From www.dotnetnuke.com if I click on the "New Version Released" link it takes me to a download page, but doesn't have any links to what has changed, how to do a upgrade instaead of a new install, etc. etc. Adding some context info/related links on this pages would be nice for us newbies!

Also, my (so far) super host (webSecureStores.com) will quickly install a whole new version of DNN, but then I have a blank site to work with. How do I do an upgrade from one version to another? Can anyone point me to a link on the site or help doc for this?

I'm sure this is documented well but this newbie hasn't come across it yet. (I have read most of the official book too without seeing this.) Thanks!

You can check our Issues Log at http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/Project.aspx?PROJID=2 for a detailed view of the items that have been addressed between releases.  There are two views of interest.  The Change Log shows what has happened in previous releases and the Roadmap shows what items are currently being worked.

This is not an exhaustive list... because we sometimes ( even though we shouldn't ) work on things that don't get posted in this log.  But it should give you a good idea of what's going on and the major items between releases.
