Hi there

I want to open a popup window from a link on my page which I can do with no problem. However, I would like the popup window to only show a particular module and nothing else. No menu etc. This functionality exists in the Gallery module when you click on a picture in the gallery and the picture opens up in it's own window without all the DNN menu's surrounding it.

I've looked through the gallery code but it is not the easiest thing to try and track down the basic functionality. Does anyone have any pointers on the basic concepts of how this is done and perhaps some simple code samples?

Thanks for any help.

Paul

I'm pretty sure the gallery module uses a seperate aspx file to do just that. You have to make sure though that unauthenticated users cannot open up your popup directly

Hi there

Thans for the reply. I finally downloaded the Gallery source code and got it working on my machine and then looked at how that does it. You're right of course & thank you for the warning about not authentication of the aspx module by anonymous users, I hadn't thought of that.

Cheers

Pau

While developing an alternative to the built-in DNN module print capability I discovered that it is possible to force use of a particular container and/or skin by including 'SkinSrc=' and 'ContainerSrc='  as part of the query string.  Providing the default DNN "No Skin" and "No Container" skin and container respectively allows one to isolate a module's output alone one the page.  As I specifically did NOT want the usual DNN print pop-up behavior, I did not target a new blank window when redirecting, but I believe a similar technique would work when creating a pop-up.  What I found difficult was referencing the "No Skin" and "No Container" properly in the query string.  Here's a short section of code I used to add the SkinSrc and ContainerSrc key/value pairs to my arraylist of other query string parameters which were then passed to the method NavigateUrl:

If Print Then
  params.Add("mid=" & ModuleId.ToString)
  params.Add("SkinSrc=" & DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.QueryStringEncode((("[G]" & Skins.SkinInfo.RootSkin) & "/_default/No Skin")))
  params.Add("ContainerSrc=" & DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.QueryStringEncode((("[G]" & Skins.SkinInfo.RootContainer) & "/_default/No Container")))
End If
