Hi,

Any one knows how to override DNN menu OnClick event?
I tried to modify the source code in DNNMenuNavigationProvider with no luck.

I have a requirement to track the number of clicks on each menu item.

Thanks in advance.

I need some more clarification.  Are you referring to the main navigation menu of your site?  if so, then simply specify a url of j a v a s c r i p t:yourfuncitionhere();  (with no spaces).

How about writing a custom SQL report from the site log???  From the Admin menu go to the Site Log and choose the Detailed Site Log report, the Tabname field corresponds to the menu items.

If you want to create your own reports, look at the GetEvent*** stored procedures for samples.

In this way you don't need to modify anything in the Core or the menu system, the info you need is already being captured.

Jon,
1st of all Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes I'm referring to the main site navigation. However, tracking the number of Clicks requires server side action to
increment the counter field which is associated with the menu option (or tab) being clicked. This field is a custom
field (which I will add to the Tabs table myself). A j a v a s c r i p t won't help (unless AJAX).

I hope I made it clear to you now.

Carlos,

Thank you too for the quick reply.

I browsed to Admin --> Site Log --> Detailed Site Log report, and got nothing. Am I missing something?
Do I need to enable logging somewhere?
