Hi,

I have been searching the forums for a while now and can't find anything on this topic.

I have a search Results page with the Search Results module installed on it, but the search box on my site (in the skin header section) does not seem to connect to it. I have looked for an admin function that would make this connection with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to make this connection so the Search will send results to the Search Results page?

It seems like the portal lost the ID of the Search Results page, but I can't find any way to get it connected again.

thanks in advance.

here is some more detail on above problem.

I had deleted the original search page, so created a new one at:
http://dnn.wbtdev.net/Home/SearchResults/tabid/63/Default.aspx

It has a SearchResults module on it.

but when I try to do a search, the following URL comes up sometimes, and I just end up on the portal home page.

http://dnn.wbtdev.net/SearchResults/tabid/59/portalid/0/Default.aspx?Search=lorem
it looks like it is still trying to find the original search results page.

How do I get the Search Input to connect to the new Search Results page? Can't find anything about this problem on the forums. And the docs are even worse. Lots on how to code my own, but nothing I can find on using the existing modules with the existing admin functions.

Make sure your search results modules is named "Search Results".  See explanation here.

Hi Ecktwo,

thanks so much; that is exactly the type of tutorial / documentation I was looking for. I wish that there was more of that for DNN.

my problem was having the original Search Results page and module still in the Recycle bin. I didn't even remember there was a recycle bin. I restore it, removed the others I had created over time, and now it works as advertised.

thanks again,

tomvw
