New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

Anyone who uses the AD functionality of DNN knows that there are some bugs that have not been fixed in over a year. Mike Horton of the Repository project has taken it upon himself to keep this forum updated. In fact he seems more like the project lead then Tam who I haven't seen a post from in some time. In addition to cope with bugs, a "third-party" recompile of the project is regularly released to the public.

This is not an acceptable situation. Some projects have gotten behind like this, but this is a CORE module. Is pretty much required to use DNN on an intranet and that makes it a tad bit important if the core team wishes to see it used in such an environment. If you look at the number of posts for each forum, you can see that this one generates a lot of traffic so I think a lot of users agree with this.

Is the core team going to acknowledge what is going on with this module? Is it ever going to see at least some bug fixes let alone some enhancements or new features?

Not a Core team member but just a comment.

The majority of the credit for the AD Fix goes to Stuart Hilbert. He's the person that put into place the fixes when we started using AD with our DNN site under DNN 3.3.5. At the time he didn't have access to VS2005 so he asked if someone would update it so I decided to help out (mainly because I knew that eventually the .NET 1.1/DNN 3 stream would stop and I wanted to get our intranet site updated sooner rather than later). Since then I just try to make sure that it works properly as each version is released.

Scott did post here back in late November/early December (I think that was the timeframe) that they were looking for a new project lead. My guess at this point is that they've had no takers or nobody qualified enough (I'm not) to take it over.
