haha.  i'm actually trying to fix this to work in IE.  how can i make the lines show up in IE?

The borders need to be applied to the table cells e.g. the TD's which you can target as follows:

tr.UDT_Table_Head td, tr.UDT_Table_Item td, tr.UDT_Table_AlternateItem td {
    border:solid 1px black;
}
