Hi all, my Q is how to use (or develop) interdependant modules... the scenario is that two server-side modules must be able to interact with each other on the client-side, using javascript and AJAX-like callbacks to change the content of other modules. Take the idea of one div with a link updating a div inside another module... is this kind of thing possible using standard DNN modules? If so, what is the best way to go? TIA for any pointers!

OK, nobody seems to know an answer to this Q... but no big problem... I myself decided to develop a custom module (using C#) which holds all the interdependant controls. It is actually quite nice and easy developing custom modules since there are good tutorials and examples.

Still, I hope that with the upcoming AJAX support in 4.5.x some development will start to make it possible to let modules interact (directly on the client), and also to use Web Services to update themselves... anyone knows if these are upcoming features? :-)

Psiegers:

You may want to look into the functionality of the DNN Treeview control, several people have asked about doing just that with the Treeview control.  Read about the DNN controls here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DotNetNukeProjects/CoreWebControls/tabid/873/Default.aspx

Also, look for info on the Inter Module Communicatin architecture (IMC).  I don't have a link to offer for this one at the moment.
