I am building a portal with sites for which I am developing custom modules.  I have a page using the documents module which is uploading documents.  Now I need to build a module to find and select from these documents.  Looking at the documents source code I see that the module id of the documents module which uploaded the document is required to ask the document controller for the set of documents I am interested in.

Problem is, I can't predict the moduleId.  How can I figure out what the module id of the page on the site is so I can go get the documents?

Thanks,

Jeff Landry

You would have to write code to query the database for modules on the same page as your module, then loop through the modules and find one that is the documents module, then use the module id from there.

Thanks for the suggestion.  This is what I was trying to avoid.  Mostly because it relies on the name of the documents module being documents.  For the moment, I know the documents are going to a specific portal folder and have already implemented code based on that.  Neither is particularly appealing, so I will stick with what I already have.

Thanks again,

Jeff Landry
