a very strange thing has happened to one of my sites. I upgraded to 4.4.1 about a month ago and everything went pretty good. Some time in the last week, with no changes (and a web.config still dated 2/25) the things that are normally WYSIWYG editing now are just plain text. I can edit in HTML mode, but it's like FTB disappeared.

    <htmlEditor
      defaultProvider="Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider">
      <providers>
        <clear/>
        <!--
         FTB options:
         ============
         toolbarStyle="Office2003|OfficeXP|Office2000|OfficeMac"  Sets the default FTB Toolbar style
         enableProFeatures="[true|false]"                         Pro features require a license from FreeTextBox
                                                                  or you may test them with localhost only
         spellCheck="[{none}|IeSpellCheck|NetSpell]"              IeSpellCheck is free for non-commercial use only
                                                                  NetSpell requires some integration work
    -->
        <add
          name="Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider"
          type="DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider, DotNetNuke.Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider"
          providerPath="~\Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider\"
          toolbarStyle="Office2003"
          enableProFeatures="false"
          spellCheck=""/>
      </providers>
    </htmlEditor>

Looks just like my other sites (also 4.4.1) so I'm really at a lot what could cause FTB to suddenly stop beng used.

Any hints?

gah- I've seen this myself once.

Somewhere along the line I selected "basic text box" for a textbox editor for a module- maybe it was a forum, or a text/html module...

I had to find one of those modules that allowed "editor switching"- and switch it back

I've determined a "source" of the problem, although it's still a tad confusing since I don't remember this being the case always.

From Safari I don't ever see FTB. Firefox works, IE under Windows works. Since I'm using a MacBook Pro as my primary machine I see the problem, but I know it hasn't been there the whole time because some of the people using my sites are Mac only users.

Confusing, but does anyone know if the new text editor default in 4.5 works fine with Safari?

I guess I answered my own question, apparently FCK doesn't work with Safari either.
