I am going to have my first setup of DNN be 4.4.1 as I can't wait for 4.5 to release but I have some questions.

If I let a hosting company do an automated installation of DNN, will it be the same.  Will I have access to upgrade modules, install modified ones, upgrade to 4.5, etc?

What hosting companies are you using, or would you suggest.  These are the three I've seen advertised here:

AQuest @$25/,month
2 Domains included
1000MB Storage
40 GB data transfer
2 FTP
200 email accounts per domain
unlimited sub domains
400 MB SQL Server 2005

webhostforasp.net "developer" $12.00/month
Hosting 2 Web Sites on IIS 6.0
10 GB disk space
1 MSSQL 2005 Database (200 MB space)

webhost4life.com "advance plan" $9.95/month
2000 MB Diskspace
Unlimited Bandwidth traffice
MSSQL 2005 2000 mb

problem is that for a medium to large size website do I need more of a large database, or more storage in disk space.

Please Help.

Personally I would not let my hosting provider do the installation as I know that some of them try to limit you on your abilities to access the DNN installation as some do not provide the host login for you.

I am personally using m6.net for my hosting and below are the details of my hosting plan

7 Domains (Unlimited pointers which means I can host unlimited portals with DNN using only 1 of the 7 domains)
170Gb of Disk Space
1000Gb of data transfer
70 FTP accounts
Unlimited e-mail accounts per domain (Up to 7 domains)
2 SQL Server Db's
50 MySQL Db's

All for $7.75 - $9.95 a month (Depending on payment plan).  Their service is pretty decent and they allow you to run in full trust mode.

Stephen,

I recently moved to webhost4life for my hosting.  While my primary site runs on pure ASP, I was looking for someone who could run the latest version of DotNetNuke.

Their automated install runs like a charm, although they neglect to tell you that you need to give NETWORK SERVICE full permissions to that folder.  You can point multiple domains and subdomains to portals within your DNN site, unlike some other hosts (1and1).  They've also added some "branding" to the default skins.

In regards to space, my primary site includes screenshots and logos from the past 3 years from a computer game (City of Heroes).  There are close to 6500 pictures that the members have uploaded.  My total usage of disk space is about 800 MB.  While 2 GB might seem small compared to what some companies offer, it's fairly large.
