  Hello there,

It's now more than 10 days that google (I suppose) is requesting that URL every 5 minutes. That stupid bot still doesn't know that thing generates an error, but it regularly reset my Application Pool -> Some memory overload (I think) !

So I already asked Google to stop that thread on this URL, but I doubt they can do anything, so I have to find now where that thing could be referenced ? An example of the DNN's log is below :-)

Thanks for any suggestion....

Not entirely sure google is entirely at fault. I'm getting exactly the same thing in 4.5.0 and forums supplied with it.

Certainly this file path does not exist (notice the duplication) and in any way, and DNN should at least be able to handle the error more eligently anyway. My theory Googlebot appears to be recursing down through an infinate loop and DNN then just crashes. I can't see that loop on my site.

Does anybody have any enlightenment here? See message below (note my domain name has been removed):

Upon Further investigation (note I still don't know why google goes down this sort of file path):

I can recreate the crash. This will crash the dotnetnuke.com site and will give yellow screen of death:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/MessageBoard/tabid/183/forumid/1/scope/threads/www.dotnetnuke.com//MessageBoard/tabid/183/forumid/1/scope/threads/www.dotnetnuke.com/MessageBoard/tabid/183/forumid/1/scope/threads/www.dotnetnuke.com//MessageBoard/tabid/183/mid/567/groupid/1/Default.aspx

To recreate this on your site simple search and replace www.dotnetnuke.com with your domains URL.

I don't know whether this sort of error can be trapped or not.

So in summary two outstanding issues then

a) Trapping the yellow screen of death error
b) Cause of error (why does google go down that route?).

Comments?

I have no idea what is going on here. I can say I have been carefully monitoring the beta site and the google/msn bots and have seen nothing like this happening.

If you look in the URL, for some reason it looks like it is combining URL after URL to make a single one.
