Well the concern is that Google continues to index my site indefinitely... Maybe I will have the most uptodate site on the world . We can transform this into a feature  :-)

As for trapping the problem, it would have to be handled by the core (I am not sure that is even possible). The thing that puzzles me here most is how in the hell is it creating that link. It's been awhile since I really worked w/ that code base, but I don't have any idea how this link is even being generated. Even the XENU cralwer isn't finding it. I hate to throw this out here as I can't believe its true, but is it possible googlebot is the problem here?

Crispy,

I too am beginning to start to think the same thing.  I have sent 5 different bot/spiders after my site and not ONE of them has found this "link" that googlebot is trying to find.  I even used the W3C recursive site validator to check and it didn't find the link.....

I put a message there in the Google WebMaster forums, as I find no where some Contact button :-)

I've got the exact same problem.  The google bot showed up last night, hit this issue and won't go away.  I'm running DNN 4.04.01 with version 3.20.08 of the forum.

It seems strange that the bot won't give up, one would hope it was coded well enough to move on after a configurable number of failures.  I've tried convincing it to go away using some DOS attack software I run and even shut down the site (it is on a separate IIS web site since it is running SSL at points) and the bot still came back. I'm out of ideas on how to get rid of it so if anyone has any thoughts they would be appreciated (I have 100% control over the server in this case).

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what the solution is here.  It would be nice to get rid of all those messages that are piling up in the logs.

Ted
