I have been struggling for nearly 2 days now to get DNN 4.4.1 installed on a developer package hosted with Netcetera.com

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.04.01

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

I have double checked the connection string, and netcetera have verified that its correct, yet they seem reluctant to accept that there is anything wrong - despite the fact that the install does not proceed!

Anything else I should be checking?  I would publish the server connection details but i guess that that would just be plain silly ;-)

Thanks in advance for any assistance - I have read the manual, I have contacted support, now to contact the people that use it!

Latest helpful comment from "Support" @ netcetera:

This version should work fine, I suggest you speak to DNN support regarding the issue or add an entry on their forum. We do not believe this is a server side problem.

Can you post your connection string info here, without some of the security type information included. Or you can email me and I'll try to assist.

I'm having the same problem. Here's the connection string and other relevant info. I get the same error as what is posted above.
