Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.

I understand that in some scenarios, some intranets need to be able to allow users to select their domain when logging into DNN (i.e. the reason for needing to login as:  Domain\Username).

But, can you guys (the project leaders) please add functionality to at least let us administrators of DNN sites optionally configure the ADSI provider where we can specify a DEFAULT DOMAIN, so that users don't have to login with Domain\Username in the forms authentication mode.  We don't run mixed/auto login because too many users have firefox and other browsers besides IE, and we want to make it so everyone must login through forms auth using Active Directory.  but it is just such a pain to have them need to know how to use Domain\Username to login...

We are using this in a school envinronment where we only have ONE DOMAIN, and about 20,000 users (most of whom would never even have an inkling of an idea what the AD domain is here)... :)

Please...... I will even create a request for added functionality in the http://support.dotnetnuke.com if you think this can be done... Please!!!

I would like to put in my request for this as well.  I am in a similar situation (Educational Institute) and it would be so much easier on the users to not have to add this to their usernames.

Thank you in advance for considering a function like this,

I use the script from this post at our school so that students/staff don't need to use the domain name when logging in.

If you are up for some code editing, I have a solution posted in the AD Fixes thread at the top of this forum for network authenticated logins.  Perhaps someone could make suggestions on how to modify this for mixed login environments.

I am in a major corporation with multiple domains, but user names are unique accross all domains because people tend to move around.  To make things easier on the users and to eliminate duplication of users (domainX\juser == domainY\juser), I stripped the domain name completely from the login information.
