Paul

I have tried something but I was not able to reproduce the error you describe.

The problem is that the error message does not specify in detail when the problem occur.

Do you have any additional information

regards

HP

The only thing I can really think of is to tell you all the steps that happend that end in this error.  I'm kind of hoping my trackback eventually rolls off his blog though.  :)

I seen an interesting story and copied it's permalink and trackback link.  I then went to my site and posted a blog about his post at http://www.micropersuasion.com/2005/12/read_most_of_or.html .  In the text of my post I created a link to his blog and then pasted his trackback url in the trackback textbox of my site.  Everything seemed to go fine.

When someone visits his site and then clicks the trackback comment referring to my site I get the error generated in the log file that I posted above.

Paul,

I have now found the problem, but not sure what happens before that this problem can occur.

The trackback link on the site http://www.micropersuasion.com/2005/12/read_most_of_or.html referes to your blog entry id 84. But this entry doesn't exist, You have an entry with the id 83 that has a link to to site http://www.micropersuasion.com/2005/12/read_most_of_or.html .

If now the trackback link of the remote site is used to open your blog entry the link to http://www.phdavis.com/Default.aspx?tabid=54&EntryID=84 fails and that will generate the error.

Did you create an entry copy it and delete the original entry ?

Nope just posted and then pretty much forgot about it until I started seeing the error.  Could be that it was changed on his side though I guess. Could I go into the database and change the ID to 84. I'm not sure why that ID was skipped.  I haven't deleted any posts and just deleted my first spam comment last night.

Why should he do that?

No, the entryID is not editable!

Can you check whether there is a record with an entry ID 84 available in your database?

Or send an email to "his side" and ask him whether he can change the link.

I have tried some times but I don't have any explanation how this could be happen, the only explanation is what I have written and ask you before , the origin entry was deleted, but as you said, you didn't delete any entry.

It is mysterious!
