re all,

registered users have the moderator/admin tools displayed on the forum.

i checked their roles which are registered user and subscriber.

they do not have the moderator flagged/checked.

yet they have access to the forum adminstration and the moderator button and etc.

any help would be appreciated.

i'll debug this tommorrow.

i've review a few links and reviewed the Forum_3[1].20.01_GettingStarted.pdf.

Which version of DNN and the forums are you using?

How are your permissions set for the forum module and the specific page that it is on?

DNN: 4.4.1
Forum Version: 03.20.08

Page Settings and Module Settings are the same:

Registered Users: view page and edit page
Subscribers: view page

I have not tested this but I believe that it is because you have registered users with edit rights to the page.  They must have edit rights to the module, but not to the page.  (I have not tested this, but I believe that is the case.)
