I have developed a standalone program and I would like to share the login with the DNN. For example, when the host login in, it can also access the standalone program which allows host access only.

My problem is i cannot figure out how the program check if the host is logged in, is there session to check and if there are any guidelines for doing this?

Thank you.

In asp.net - as a rule - the session information is unique to a single web application.

If you have a seperate standalone application that is NOT running inside the same web application as DNN then it will have its own session.

If on the other hand - the application IS running inside the same web application then your application should at least in theory be able to access the context info for running session.

The standalone program actually places in the DNN folder and I don't know if it should be considered as the same web application. Please advice.

Meanwhile, I would like to know what i can do to make my standalone program as part of the DNN?(Except making a DNN module) and share the host Session?

Thank you
