I created a page that uses Google to search these forums.
It has been very helpful to me and it might be to others, feel free to use it.

Why?
The search function of these forums only searches for the exact phrase you type.
I used google to search the forums before, but I got sick of typing
"site:http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke"
for every search. The search page inserts this automatically and presents the google search result in a frame.

Good job Timo. I've been doing the same thing ever since the forums were moved away from asp.net. The forum search here definitely needs some work to be usable.

Very useful, thanks for making that available.
Might be handy for some to add the ASP.net forums to the dropdown?

I hope you don't mind me adding this, but it's all for the goal of improving everyone's DNN experience (or nightmare, as the case may be).

Your page made me wonder if I could add a DNN forum search to the IE7 search providers menu... and I can.. what a time saver!

Do this:

  1. In IE7, click the dropdown by the search box and select "Find more providers"
  2. Paste the following into the "Create your own" form on the right:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke+-replies+TEST
  3. Type a name: DNN Forums
  4. Click Install

Done

Nice tip.

I did add the asp.net forum to the page though...
